We respect your right to control your data. You can request deletion of your VoiceSpend account and all associated data at any time. This page explains the process, what data is deleted, and what to expect.

How to Delete Your Account

Option 1: From the App (Recommended)

  1. Open VoiceSpend and go to Settings
  2. Scroll to the "Danger Zone" section
  3. Tap "Delete Account"
  4. Review the summary of data that will be deleted
  5. Confirm by entering your email address

Option 2: Contact Us

If you are unable to access the app, you can request account deletion by emailing us at support@slashcommit.com with the subject line "Account Deletion Request". Please include the email address associated with your VoiceSpend account so we can verify your identity.

What Happens After You Request Deletion

  • 30-day grace period: Your account will be scheduled for permanent deletion in 30 days. During this time, you can cancel the request and restore your account.
  • Immediate access restriction: Your account will be flagged as pending deletion, but you can still log in to cancel the request.
  • Confirmation email: You will receive an email confirming your deletion request with a link to cancel if needed.

Data That Is Permanently Deleted

After the 30-day grace period, the following data is permanently and irreversibly deleted:

  • Account information: Your name, email address, profile settings, and preferences
  • Financial data: All transactions, accounts, balances, and transaction history
  • Categories and budgets: All custom categories, budgets, and budget history
  • Contacts and IOUs: All contacts, split expenses, and settlement records
  • Voice data: Any stored voice recordings or transcriptions
  • Receipts and attachments: All uploaded receipt images and transaction attachments
  • Savings goals: All savings goals and progress
  • Recurring items: All recurring transaction rules
  • Authentication data: Your Firebase authentication record and all active sessions

Data That May Be Retained

In limited circumstances, certain data may be retained after account deletion:

  • Legal obligations: Data required to comply with applicable laws, regulations, or legal proceedings
  • Fraud prevention: Minimal data necessary to prevent fraud or abuse
  • Aggregated analytics: Anonymized, aggregated data that cannot be used to identify you
  • Payment records: Transaction records maintained by third-party payment processors (Google Play, Apple App Store, Polar.sh) under their own data retention policies

Canceling a Deletion Request

During the 30-day grace period, you can cancel your deletion request at any time:

  • Log in to VoiceSpend and go to Settings
  • You will see a banner indicating your account is scheduled for deletion
  • Tap "Cancel Deletion" to restore your account
  • Alternatively, click the cancellation link in your confirmation email

Important Notes

  • Account deletion is permanent and irreversible after the grace period ends.
  • If you have an active subscription, please cancel it before requesting account deletion. Deleting your account does not automatically cancel subscriptions managed through Google Play or the Apple App Store.
  • We recommend exporting your data before requesting deletion if you want to keep a personal copy.
